We’re less than a month away from everyone’s favorite cinematic-themed awards show — the 2012 MTV Movie Awards — and with only weeks away from our June 3 show date, you can expect special announcements to start flooding in with teases of this year’s special guests, presenters and pre-show moments.

Speaking of pre-show moments, we’re pleased to announce that the star-studded cast of “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” will be on hand to help present the trailer for the highly anticipated film during our pre-show. The lovely Emma Watson helped break the news via her Twitter account on Wednesday (May 16).

“The Perks of Being a Wallflower” is based on the popular Stephen Chbosky novel of the same name. The story revolves around introverted high school freshman Charlie (Logan Lerman) as he slowly comes out of his shell thanks to new friends, siblings Sam (Emma Watson) and Patrick (Ezra Miller).

Watson will not only be attending the show as part of the “Perks” trailer presentation, but will also be representing “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2,” for which the lovely actress is a double nominee in the Best Female Performance and Best Kiss categories. “Deathly Hallows, Part 2″ has a chance to take home major Movie Awards gold given their six nominations but faces fierce competition from “The Hunger Games” and “Bridesmaids,” which are the most-nominated movies this year.

The MTV Movie Awards will air live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, on Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/kesha_/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a>'s already gotten <a href="/news/articles/1656039/andre-3000-pops-up-on-kehas-sleazy-remix.jhtml">"Sleazy" with Andre 3000</a>. Now, a few more rappers want to get dirty with the glittery pop singer.</P><P><a href="http://www.xxlmag.com/news/2011/10/t-i-andre-300-lil-wayne-wiz-khalifa-record-kesha-remix" target="_blank">XXLmag.com</a> reports that <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/t_i_/artist.jhtml">T.I.</a> plans to jump on the track, and Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa will also be joining Andre and Tip on a new version of "Sleazy." Weezy should be a welcome addition to <a href="/news/articles/1651081/keha-gets-sleazy-on-new-cannibal-track.jhtml">Ke$ha's dance tune</a>, as it sounds somewhat like Wayne's single "A Milli." And while not much else is known about the remix, T.I. promised that he's going to go big with his verse.</P><P>"I haven't heard anybody but mine. … I'm gonna put my money on mine," the newly freed rapper, who <a href="/news/articles/1671950/ti_prison-release.jhtml">ended an 11-month prison sentence</a> in September, told the website.</P><P>The Andre 3000 remix dropped earlier this year and appears on K-Dollar Sign's album <i>Cannibal.</i> The guys will have a lot of swagger to compete with because when Andre appeared on the first remix, he had this to say: "We start out so cute in our baby pictures/ That mama shot for our daddy so that he wouldn't forget you/ He forgot anyway, but hey, one day he'll remember/ If not, he's human, I'm human, you human, we'll forgive him/ I call her Keisha, she like it because it's 'hood to her/ She call me Andre 6000 because I'm good to her."</P><P>Tip told XXLmag.com that his appearance on the Ke$ha song is just one of many remixes he's amped about. He has also worked on remixes for Meek Mill and Rick Ross's "Ima Boss," as well as Jay-Z and Kanye West's <i>Watch the Throne</i> song "N—as in Paris."</P><P>"I'm looking for some more records to jump on," he said. Singer will open up about his appearance in the off-Broadway show ‘Fuerza Bruta,’ as well his new album, during ‘MTV First’ on Wednesday.

<P>Sure, anyone can hold an album-listening party at some record label's headquarters or, to really mix it up, some swanky nightclub. But for <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a>, that just wasn't enough. When he was looking for a way to debut tracks off <a href="/news/articles/1684389/usher-looking-4-myself-cover-neck-tattoo.jhtml"><i>Looking 4 Myself</a>,</i> out June 12, he found another way to spread the word.</P><P>Last month, Usher appeared in the off-Broadway show <a href="/news/articles/1684028/usher-fuerza-bruta-looking-for-myself.jhtml">"Fuerza Bruta,"</a> in which he played the male lead, Running Man, for one night only. During the show, he played all his newest, shiniest tracks for lucky theatergoers. When MTV News spoke to him exclusively during rehearsals, he explained that his part in "Fuerza" provided the perfect pairing between the themes on his album and the visuals of the play.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Exclusive First Look At Usher's 'Fuerza Bruta' Performance" id="vid:769347.id:1685086" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>"I mean, life is like that in a lot of ways. This was something that I organically came to," he explained. "When you think about the lyrics of 'Climax,' 'Going nowhere fast/ We reached the climax' … 'Going nowhere fast' would be running in place," he explained, referring to a part in the show where he runs on a treadmill, never actually ending up anywhere.</P><P>"<i>Looking 4 Myself,</i> I'm walking with my head down, counting every step," he explained, referring to another act in the show. "I'm always trying to find very creative ways for the music and the art to work together and this is it. I only hoped it would be viewed in that way, in an unprecedented way. I hoped that people would be able to identify with it and become acclimated with my experience in a fun way, creative. This was kind of an emotional experience that leads you into my world."</P><P>Usher has even more to share about his experience in the show as well as his highly anticipated album release. The song, a guitar-driven ballad titled "Turn to You," breaks down the pair's life together, and their early struggles as Mallette worked to raise a baby Bieber as a teenager.</P><P>Over jangly guitars, Bieber recalls, "You worked two jobs to keep a roof up over our heads/ You chose life for me, no you never gave up/ I admire you for the strength you instilled in me/ You were so young, you were just my age when you had me/ Mom, you were so brave, there was nothing that would stop or get in our way/ And I know you will always be there for me."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="MTV First: Justin Bieber" id="id:1684329" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>The song's empowering message really picks up on the chorus, when he proclaims, "So when you're lost/ And you're tired when you're broken in two/ Let my love take you higher cause I still turn to you."</P><P>"I wrote a song for my mom. Actors will play younger and older version of Russian doctor in four-part dramedy ‘A Young Doctor’s Notebook.’

What do Don Draper and Harry Potter have in common? They’re both about to become doctors.

The Internet was buzzing earlier this month when rumors popped up that actors Jon Hamm and Daniel Radcliffe were set to play the older and younger version of a Russian doctor in a four-part British miniseries set during the end of World War I. On Friday (May 18), Sky Arts, the network set to air the series in 2013, confirmed that we’ll indeed get to see Dr. HammRad in action. “A Young Doctor’s Notebook” is a dramedy based on a short-story collection by Mikhail Bulgakov, a Russian writer and playwright.

“I have been an obsessive Bulgakov reader for a couple of years now,” Radcliffe said in a statement about the television program. “So when the opportunity to become involved in this project came up, I could barely contain my excitement. The book is funny, grotesque and heartfelt in equal measure and I look forward to working with a great group of people to help bring it to life.”

Hamm agreed with his new co-star’s enthusiasm, saying, “I am thrilled to get the opportunity to work on such rich source material with such fantastically talented people whose work I greatly respect.”

The actors will play the same character in different time periods, occasionally interacting with each other. The original rumors were reported by The Sun, which said the show “will incorporate dark humour as the doctor attempts to overcome self-doubts about his competence.”

When MTV News spoke to Radcliffe last summer, he explained he’s attracted to darker tales because he finds them much more interesting.

“I don’t want to make a boring love story about two people who meet and then are happy. That’s boring, and that doesn’t exist,” Radcliffe said. “I also do like playing slightly disenfranchised characters like Arthur is in ‘The Woman in Black.’ He’s someone who’s grieving and whose grief has put him to the edge of madness and also has sort of made him ostracize himself from society. I guess I like the dark stuff. I find it more interesting.”

Hamm said producer Clelia Mountford and production company Big Talk have been “unabashedly” advocating for the series. “I share their great enthusiasm for bringing something original, dark, funny and moving to light,” the actor said. “Also, I have been watching ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ on infinite loop, and I think I’ve finally got this accent thing sorted…”

MTV News talks to ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ cast about Fox’s decision to enlist the two pop stars for the reality singing show.

<P><b>NEW YORK</b> &#8212; As the fall TV season continues to make news, Fox has had the most buzz thanks to the <a href="/news/articles/1685004/demi-lovato-x-factor-judge.jhtml">news that Demi Lovato</a> and <a href="/news/articles/1684879/britney-spears-x-factor-deal-judge.jhtml">Britney Spears will sit down</a> beside Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid as female judges on "The X Factor," replacing Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul.</P><P>On Monday (May 14), as talent from many of the network's leading shows lined up to talk to the press at the Fox event, what everyone really wanted to know was how these two artists might fit on the reality competition show.</P><P>Given that both have made names for themselves thanks to their own unique charms as pop stars, some of the more seasoned network vets offered up some sage advice for the reality show newbies. MTV News chatted with the folks of "So You Think You Can Dance," in the hours before the presentation where they were confirmed, to get their sage advice for Brit and Demi.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="'So You Think You Can Dance' Cast Weigh In On Britney Spears, Demi Lovato For 'X Factor'" id="vid:768829" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>"You know, I don't have any advice for those ladies," "SYTYCD" host Cat Deeley explained. "What I do like about it though is they will be able to absolutely impart some serious wisdom. I love the idea that they've been in the business for so long and since being kids and so quite often they've had successes and they've had failures on things.</P><P>"And I think the most important thing is the mistakes we make," she added. "You learn so much from mistakes that you make and I think they'll be able to impart their wisdom to the new kids coming through. I think it's a great booking."</P><P>Judge Mary Murphy seemed excited by the chance to run into the girls at Fox-related events, and even shared that she'd love to see dancer Britney make an appearance on her show as well.</P><P>"So she would be a good [guest] too if she wanted to pop on over, but I think she's going to be a busy young woman with everything she has going on," she said. "I think we'll tune in to find out what the heck she's gonna say!" she said, going on to share some judging advice. "Just try to speak from the heart and you can't go wrong."</P><P>While Murphy and Deeley focused on the positive when it comes to their highly publicized judging spots, Nigel Lythgoe wondered if the singers (Britney, 30, and Demi, 19) might be too young for a mentor-type position.</P><P>"Well they've got to look on it as a brand-new show, to be frank. I don't think they need to look at the first season. I think they've got to be honest as they can be," he said of coming in for season two. "They're both artists and artists will always couch any criticism because they know that they've been criticized, so they've got to ignore that.</P><P>"They've got to be as honest as they can be with their contestants and just inspire them to be better," he said, before sharing his one hesitation about them.</P><P>"My only reservation is they're both young and I do think that mentors should be of an age," he added, joking he fears it might put older experts, like him, out of a job. "I do think mentors have had so much experience before they mentor. At the same time, both of these young ladies have had incredible personal experience and been through so much in their own lives that hopefully they can bring that to the party too. But at the end of the day, they are going to take newcomers and literally push them through a reality television competition. Call it the most disappointing $16 billion raised in investment history.

Facebook stock is off to a rocky start after its highly anticipated initial public offering (IPO), jumping more than 10 percent in the first few minutes of trading before sellers swept into the market and that gain evaporated.

“The stock is trading right at the IPO price,” one expert told the L.A. Times. “They didn’t want that in a million years. A traditional IPO is up 10% or 15%.”

The stock most recently hovered at about $40, only $2 above what shares were priced at late Thursday. Shares touched $38 multiple times during trading.

Investors also had to deal with a nearly three-hour delay for the stock to open. The Nasdaq kept the stock halted as it processed a crush of buy and sell orders.

The inauspicious opening after the Facebook IPO suggests that retail investors paid close attention to reports of soft financials and big selling by insiders.

Still, Facebook raised $16 billion in what will go down as the third-largest public offering in U.S. history and the biggest ever for a technology company.

Could be worse, right? Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg rang the Nasdaq opening bell from company headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif.

Eduardo Saverin, one of the company’s co-founders, made news this week by giving up U.S. citizenship as a means of limiting his tax liability.

‘You know, you can’t trust anyone in this business,’ pop star tells GQ.

<P>It's not always easy being <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a>. At least that's what the latest profile about the teen superstar in <a href="http://www.gq.com/entertainment/celebrities/201206/justin-bieber-gq-june-2012-interview?currentPage=1" target="_blank"><i>GQ</i></a> suggests. While Bieber does open up a bit about his personal life, he remains mostly guarded, sharing very little about what goes on when the cameras aren't rolling or he's not in the recording studio.</P><P>"I mean, I keep my guard up a lot, because you know, you can't trust anyone in this business," Bieber says in the June issue of the magazine. "That's what's sad. You can't trust anybody. I learned the hard way."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Justin Bieber Strives For Perfection" id="vid:765701.id:1684329" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>The article notes that Bieber seems to mostly go from his house to his car to the studio, with little time for spontaneity. While he remained tight-lipped in the interview, he confesses that he does on occasion let his guard down. But even then, he tries to never let anything get out of hand. "For me, it's just like, I like to be in control of myself," he said. "I mean, I've had a beer, like, before. … But I never get out of control."</P><P>Bieber seemed most relaxed during the interview when his pricey new car, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, is sent to him at the studio. With his friends, handlers and associates on hand, he proclaims to everyone that they should head into the studio with him and celebrate by listening to some of his new music. "I'm 18 years old and I'm a swaggy adult!" he says. "Come on, swaggy bros!"</P><P>That swagger is noted later on in the article when Bieber says, "I've never made a bad song."</P><P>Another candid Bieber moment comes later on. When hanging in the studio after working on a track for <a href="/news/articles/1684079/justin-bieber-believe-album-cover.jhtml"><i>Believe</a>,</i> which drops next month, one of his pals bashes his onetime crush Kim Kardashian, and he quickly comes to her defense, saying, "People say she doesn't do anything; she actually does do stuff. … She works hard."</P><P>When MTV News sat down with Bieber to premiere his <a href="/news/articles/1684454/justin-bieber-boyfriend-mature-video.jhtml">"Boyfriend" video</a> recently, he told us that he always tries to be the best he can be. "I think it's about getting better at everything and never stopping. You can be the best but you can never stop growing," he shared, before noting that he always enters interviews fully aware that anything he says could be taken out of context.</P><P>"Right now, I have to think two seconds in advance, like, 'What am I gonna say?' But I try my best to moderate what I'm gonna say, to say it so I don't make any mistakes," he admitted. "So people aren't, like, twisting my words."</p>

And these days she says the thing that makes her feel most beautiful is her baby girl, Blue Ivy.</P><P>"I feel more beautiful than I've ever felt because I've given birth," Beyonc&#233; told the magazine. "I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth."</P><P>Beyonc&#233; continues to gush about her baby girl, saying, "She's just the cutest thing," adding that she makes up songs to sing just to Blue Ivy. When asked which of her parents the baby resembles more, B responded, "She looks like Blue. She's her own person."</P><P>While Beyonc&#233; is focused on her "love" of changing diapers these days, she is prepping to get back to work. The road to the highly anticipated “Anchorman 2″ has been a long one. Since “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” arrived in 2004, there were reports from cast and crew confirming a sequel and announcing a script was in the process of being written.

But the words were then taken back, leaving fans dizzy and disappointed believing they wouldn’t see the anchormen reunite. Finally, when all hope was lost, Ferrell made a surprise appearance on “Conan” as the legendary Ron Burgundy to announce that the sequel was greenlit.

With the “Anchorman 2″ teaser trailer playing before Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Dictator,” the Lebanese Cinema Movie Guide released the first official poster. It shows the Channel 4 news team’s feet standing on set in the studio, the bottom of their suits — including Ron’s signature burgundy number, presumably not bought at the toilet store — keeping it classy as always. The official title of the film appears at the bottom in big, bold print (“Anchorman: The Legend Continues”) with a release date of 2013.

While the film is still in the very early stages of development, the first movie’s director and co-writer Adam McKay will reunite with Ferrell to pen the script and the principal cast is set to return, including Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. When MTV News spoke with McKay back in 2010, he told us he expected much of the cast to come along for the sequel.

“We had an idea, and we contacted Steve and Paul and [David] Koechner and Christina [Applegate] and checked in with everyone, and they were all game for it,” McKay said. “It’s a tricky movie, because everyone went and did really well after it, so everyone’s prices went up and everyone’s time got a little more valuable. But at the same time, graciously, Steve and Paul and everyone agreed to cut their price to come and do it, which you don’t see very often in Hollywood — and cut their price substantially.”

Thanks to the cast’s commitment, Ron and the rest of the anchormen are set to hit theaters in 2013. Until then, stay classy, moviegoers.

Conrad Murray asks judge for a court-appointed attorney to appeal his involuntary manslaughter conviction.

<P>Just weeks after being sent to jail for <a href="/news/articles/1675062/conrad-murray-sentence.jhtml">four years</a> following a conviction on a felony involuntary manslaughter charge in the death of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jackson_michael/artist.jhtml" target="_blank">Michael Jackson</a>, cardiologist Conrad Murray is throwing himself on the mercy of the court.</P><P>The doctor had been slated to earn up to $150,000 a month to act as Jackson's personal physician before the pop icon's death in June 2009 from an overdose of the Murray-administered surgical anesthetic propofol. But on Tuesday <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/conrad_murray_in_shackles_asks/280479" target="_blank"><I>E! News</I></a> reported that Murray filed a <a href="/news/articles/1675343/conrad-murray-conviction-appeal.jhtml">notice of appeal</a> in Los Angeles Superior Court in which he claimed that he is "indigent and respectfully requests the appointment of counsel on appeal."</P><P>Murray, 58, is planning to appeal both his conviction and his sentence, but has not yet filed papers with the California Appeals Court. He had hired two lawyers to handle his manslaughter case, but is now seeking attorneys with appeal experience. One of those former lawyers, J. Michael Flanagan, told E! that he was shocked at how his client is being treated in jail.</P><P>"It is crazy and unbelievable how [the sheriffs] are treating" Murray in jail, said Flanagan, who claimed he waited over an hour to see Murray, who was brought out in handcuffs and leg chains. Flanagan was further shocked to see Murray handcuffed to the table for their meeting, something the lawyer said he'd never seen before in the case of a low-level, non-violent offender.</P><P>Charles Peckham, who is handling civil cases against Murray, told the <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/doctor-convicted-in-michael-jacksons-death-seeking-court-paid-attorney-for-appeal/2011/12/13/gIQAHIYGsO_story.html" target="_blank"><I>Associated Press</I></a> that his client is under tight security and isolation that is more intense than other inmates at the Los Angeles Men's Central Jail.</P><P>"Treating him like Hannibal Lecter is offensive," said Peckham. "This man who saved lives made a mistake, and they're going to [make] him pay like a mass-murderer." Sheriff's officials defended the tight security, saying it was for Murray's safety.</p>

‘I officially have a lot of experience seducing younger women,’ ‘Vampire Diaries’ star tells MTV News.

Now that “The Vampire Diaries” has wrapped its third season, Ian Somerhalder will now have some time to fill, and if fans of “Fifty Shades of Grey” have their way, he’ll step into the role of Christian Grey.

For weeks, fans have been voicing their opinions on who should play the billionaire tycoon in the film adaptation of the hit erotic trilogy penned by E L James. Robert Pattinson‘s name has been in the mix, as well as Ryan Gosling, but it seems that most vans are gravitating toward the “Vampire Diaries” star to take on this dark and dynamic character.

MTV News caught up with Somerhalder at the CW Upfronts in New York City on Thursday (May 17) and he revealed that playing the role of Damon in the “Vampire Diaries” has been perfect training to get him ready to portray Christian Grey.

“I think it would be an amazing thing,” Somerhalder said of the possibility of getting the role. “One interesting thing is, by the virtue of playing Damon for now a few years, [he's] 170 plus years old, in love with an 18 year old, I officially have a lot of experience seducing younger women. I’m not saying, I’m just saying.”

“Fifty Shades of Grey” revolves around Christian Grey’s relationship with young college graduate Anastasia Steele as the two develop not only a strong emotional relationship, but a much-talked-about sexual relationship. The scenes are so hot that at times it has left readers, and even Somerhalder a little flushed.

“A little bit, yeah, there’s blushing,” Somerhalder said of some of the S&M scenes.

We are sure fans would agree that Somerhalder could easily pull it off, but his support isn’t just coming from the “Fifty Shades” fans, it is also coming from his “Vampire Diaries” co-stars.

“I know he’s campaigning, I love it,” Candice Accola said of Somerhalder expressing his interest for the role. “I mean, the whole thing is like Adonis, sexy and he fits that bill pretty well.”

Kat Graham agrees, “Ian’s an amazing actor, he’s extremely dedicated to his craft and he’s also very good to the fans,” Graham told MTV News at the annual Wango Tango concert. “They’d be lucky to have him.”

Spears says she wants to ‘inspire’ contestants on the Fox show.

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> seems poised and ready to sit beside her fellow "X Factor" judges on the <a href="/news/articles/1685066/britney-spears-demi-lovato-x-factor.jhtml">revamped second season of the show</a>. At the Fox upfront this week, the singer appeared alongside fellow newbie <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lovato__demi/artist.jhtml">Demi Lovato</a>, as well as returning judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid, and gushed about the Fox reality show.</P><P>"Just really being able to be there and inspire the other contestants … they're so young and they're trying to fulfill their dreams," she said at the event. "It's just a whole beautiful concept. It's just really cool."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Britney Spears Explains Why She Wanted To Be A Part Of 'X Factor'" id="vid:769620" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>While her negotiations with the show had been making headlines in the weeks leading up to the official announcement, Cowell brushed off all the hoopla, which includes a rumored $15 million payday for joining the show. "A force of nature, I was somewhere in the middle, but I'm thrilled. I love these guys," he said of getting everyone, including Spears, on board. "I charmed her."</P><P>Spears seemed equally taken with the prickly Brit. "He's adorable. He's completely adorable. He didn't have to try hard," she admitted.</P><P>Spears' addition to the show is hardly the only casting making news: <a href="/news/articles/1685141/demi-lovato-x-factor.jhtml">Lovato also opened up about having the "X Factor."</a> While little is known about the final hours going into locking Lovato in for the show, she's rumored to be taking in $1 million, according to <a href="http://www.gossipcop.com/demi-lovato-1-million-dollars-x-factor-salary-paycheck-britney-spears-deal/" target="_blank">Gossip Cop</a>. Lovato was on a short list of possible contenders to appear on the show that also reportedly included Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne. "I'm so excited to be here," she said. "I guess you called," she added with Simon by her side. "And that's how it got set up, just a phone call." In addition to getting warm and fuzzy about each other in the interview, Cowell shared that the judges will be filming in the next couple weeks when they hit up Austin, Texas, to begin scoping out talent. And if you think the claws might come out then, Reid assured viewers that that won't be the case. "Oh no, we're gonna be really sweet to each other," he said. "Nothing controversial. <P>"I'm bewildered," <a href="/music/artist/plant_robert/artist.jhtml">Robert Plant</a> said onstage as he accepted the <MTVNLINK type="news" id="1604580">Grammy Album of the Year award</MTVNLINK> with <a href="/music/artist/krauss_alison/artist.jhtml">Alison Krauss</a> on Sunday night. "In the old days we would have called this selling out, but it's a good way to spend a Sunday."</P><P>He was probably one of the few who were surprised, because <i>Raising Sand,</i> which won five trophies at Sunday night's show, is in many ways the perfect <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/grammys/">Grammy</a> album. It features two respected veterans, a critically lauded producer, some sandpaper-and-velvet vocals and a baker's dozen of time-tested standards.</p><div style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left;"><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:338316" width="256" height="223" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashVars="configParams=instance%3Dnews%26vid%3D338316" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></div><p></P><P>You're probably familiar with Robert Plant from his <a href="/music/artist/led_zeppelin/artist.jhtml">Led Zeppelin</a> days, and you might be aware of producer T-Bone Burnett's work on the "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack (it won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2002). And if you don't know who Alison Krauss is, she possesses a haunting set of pipes and is one of the meanest fiddle players in the world. Oh, and she's won 21 Grammys, more than any other female artist and the seventh-most in history.</P><P>Really, she's the key to <i>Sand</i>'s success, and not just because of her voice (or her fiddle playing). She and Plant first met in 2004, at a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tribute to legendary bluesman Leadbelly, and the former Zeppelin man was amazed by her knowledge of American Roots music &#8212; so much so that they began kicking around the idea of recording an album together. Three years later, <i>Sand</i> was released.</P><P>And while Plant possesses the more famous voice, the album's finest moments radiate from Krauss. Whether she's getting bluesy on Little Milton's "Let Your Loss Be Your Lesson" or entwining with Plant's husky voice on songs like "Please Read the Letter" and Roly Salley's winsome "Killing the Blues," she more than carries her end of the bargain.</P><P>And perhaps that's also due to producer Burnett, who handpicked the 13 songs the duo cover on <i>Sand.</i> His arrangements are sparse &#8212; giving the two voices ample room to breathe &#8212; yet dense, warm and crackling at the same time. It's a testament to his work that he's often given just as much billing as Plant and Krauss on the project … and it's certainly justified.</P><P>To date, <i>Sand</i> has sold more than 1 million copies, heaped tons of acclaim and actually earned a Grammy last year &#8212; "Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On)" took home the award for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals.</P><P>One expert was surprised not by the album's success, but by the fact that it's actually quite a good album.</P><P>"At first, the album seemed like a vanity project. … Two names, clearly a one-off record, didn't have to be any good, you know?" <i>New York Times</i> music critic Jon Caramanica said. "Led Zeppelin fans would buy it because of Robert Plant, Alison Krauss would get a check. But it actually turned out to be a really thoughtful, really <i>good</i> record. So when you combine all that with the fact that the Grammys love to lionize one of their own, I could really see it taking home some awards." </p>

<P><b>UNIVERSAL CITY, California</b> &#8212; Hard rock, heavy metal, hardcore and punk have long gone hand-in-hand with evil wizards, magic, vampires and werewolves. And with a collective sub-cultural pedigree that includes stints in the Germs, No Use for a Name, Sunny Day Real Estate, Scream and some band called Nirvana, you'd think the <a href="/music/artist/foo_fighters/artist.jhtml">Foo Fighters</a> &#8212; set to perform at Sunday's <a href="http://www.mtv.com/ontv/movieawards/2011/">Movie Awards</a> &#8212; would know their "Potter" from their Zeppelin. Certainly they can recognize a "wand" reference and pinpoint its origin?</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="The Foo Fighters Take The Movie Awards Quiz" id="vid:660301.id:1664959" width="240" height="211"></div><p></P><P>Right? Before we put MTV News' magically crafted trivia to the band, it seemed safe to assume the Foos would accurately distinguish between the words of Harry Potter, a "Twilight" character and Led Zeppelin. From Ryan Reynolds to Alexis Bledel, book’s fans tell MTV News who they think should play the famous S&M couple in movie version.

NEW YORK — Film adaptations of beloved novels never cease to cause frenzy among fans as to which actors deserve which roles. We saw it with “Twilight” and, more recently, with “The Hunger Games.” And E L James’ popular book “Fifty Shades of Grey” is no different. When the author made her way into New York’s Union Square for a book signing at Barnes & Noble, MTV News was on the scene to witness readers avidly campaigning for who they’d like to see land the lead roles.

“Personally, I want Christian Bale to play Christian Grey because of his experience with ‘American Psycho,’ ” one fan told us. “I feel like he could be perfect. Some people think he’s too old, but this is Hollywood — we could fix that. You know, we can give him some laser, minimize some fine lines, he’s good to go. He’s the one. I want that one.”

The rights to the New York Times best-seller were optioned by Universal Pictures and Focus Features back in March, which is when casting rumors began to swirl. The interest has yet to die down as both Ian Somerhalder and Alexander Skarsgård expressed interest in the role of Christian. One fan agrees with the latter choice, saying, “In the movie I would want to see, in the role of Christian, at least — I think that’s the one where I really have a preference — I would love to see Alexander Skarsgård.”

Other actors mentioned were Bradley Cooper and Ryan Reynolds for the titillating male lead and Alexis Bledel for the female heroine. And while it’s doubtful that “Twilight” veterans Kristen Stewart and will play the couple — even though “Fifty Shades” was originally written as “Twilight” fan fiction — one fan is hanging on to hope that the actor behind Edward Cullen is cast. “[I would cast] Robert Pattinson,” she said. “For the simple fact that he was intense in his last movie with Bella. I haven’t really seen many more actors bring out a scene with that intensity.”

With the popularity of the novel, it’s likely the casting director would want to work with relatively unknown actors to bring the characters to life. If that’s the case, one fan is really rooting for her favorite Cuban dancer. “William Levy — he’s currently on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ Oh my gosh, he totally is Christian Grey. And as Ana I see Leelee Sobieski ['Glass House,' 'Joy Ride']. I think she would be a very good Ana Steele,” she said.

But whoever is chosen to play the literary world’s current hottest couple, one reader voiced every fan’s main concern: “[Christian] better be good and hot.”

Singer’s rep denies that the guys were bullied by her bouncers and warns Lady Gaga she might be next on the boy band’s hit list.

<P>It seems that <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/wanted_boy_band_/artist.jhtml">The Wanted</a> are on <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a>' "Most Wanted" list.</P><P>Just one day after the boy band made headlines for a claim they made about touring with the pop star, her rep has released a statement shutting down their allegations.</P><P><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:762692/cp~vid%3D762692%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A762692" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></P><P>It all started Monday with a New York radio station interview. <a href="/news/articles/1684195/the-wanted-britney-spears.jhtml">The Wanted's Siva Kaneswaran dished</a> about hitting the road with Spears back in November 2011, claiming, "I was in the hallway with my tour manager. Basically, we were looking with a laptop, trying to get WiFi … facing the middle of the hallway. [Britney's] bouncers came down with her and told us to face the wall … We turned around and I faced a wall for about 10 seconds until she got really far away."</P><P>Spears' camp, it seems, isn't taking their allegations lightly. In a statement to MTV News, her rep shut down the boy bander's account of the events. "What's even more interesting than the false allegations they made is the fact that they have claimed to be picked on by two female pop stars in just a few days," the rep said. "Look out, Lady Gaga &#8212; there are still three days left this week."</P><P>Well, Brit's camp should take note that one of the guys from the Wanted, in the same interview, attempted to do some damage control. Jay McGuiness added, "But, honestly, when we actually met her person to person, she was so down to earth. You can tell she's a total Southern girl, and Nathan [Sykes], when he was a kid, won a singing competition. She was one of the judges or something, and she gave him a kiss. It was one of his first kisses as a kid. So, he got to meet her again and support her."</P><P>That warmer sentiment was one they also shared with MTV News just a week ago, when they sat down with us to premiere their <a href="/news/articles/1683818/the-wanted-chasing-the-sun-video-premiere.jhtml">"Chasing the Sun" video</a>. "She's lovely as well. We haven't really met people who aren't very nice, and Britney was just very, very nice," Sykes said of his teen dream. "She was kind of what you'd expect her to be: very happy and American." And, Parker said even though her bodyguards were kind of scary, Britney had "lovely teeth."</P><P>It wasn't the first time the guys publicly criticized an experience with a female pop star. Although they've since <a href="/news/articles/1684084/the-wanted-christina-aguilera-apology.jhtml">apologized for it</a> (sort of), Tom Parker had said that when they stopped by "The Voice," <a href="/news/articles/1684009/the-wanted-christina-aguilera.jhtml">Christina Aguilera</a> was "<link type="content" id="1684009">a total bitch</a>." "She might not be a bitch in real life, but to us, she was a total bitch. She just sat there and didn't speak to us. ‘Dark Shadows’ star tells Robert Pattinson that ‘there’s room for two vampires on this block.’

In a recent interview with this big screen vampire, Johnny Depp opened up about any potential vampy face-offs with fellow heartthrob and big-screen bloodsucker Robert Pattinson.

When asked if there’s any sort of blood feud with the “Twilight” star, Depp noted that it’s all cool between the two actors. “There’s room for two vampires on this block — as long as he remembers I am the Alpha Vampire,” he told UsMagazine.com at the London premiere of his campy vampire flick, “Dark Shadows,” which opens this weekend.

Of course Edward Cullen and Barnabas Collins aren’t really cut from the same vampire DNA. Where Edward is brooding and sullen, Barnabas is on the other end of the spectrum, with his oddball charm and old-world demeanor. And their transitions to the modern world are quite different. While Edward had been living in the world over the course of his vampire life, Barnabas had been in a coffin for 200 years before emerging in the 1970s.

When MTV News spoke to Depp about the film, he noted that exploring Barnabas’ evolution in the contemporary world was what drew him to the story.

“Playing a kind of reluctant vampire, in a sense, the reluctant vampire who has been locked in a box for 200 years and his misfortune to be let out in an age when things are probably at their most surreal in terms of 1972,” Depp said. “It’s a very odd period. Family has always been the most important part of the Kardashian way, and yesterday (May 13) the ?Keeping Up with the Kardashians? crew was spotted out for Mother?s Day Brunch.

A preggers Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Lamar Odom, and Kourtney?s son Mason Disick all showed up at The Ivy to honor their matriarch Kris Jenner.

Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian was unable to make it to the big celebration, as she was scheduled for a photo shoot for Vogue Italia magazine.

Kourtney blogged, ?Happy Mothers Day to my beautiful mom who teaches me so much about the world and about being a mom. Being a mom is my absolute favorite role that I have in my life and I feel so blessed to have my mother and grandmother to inspire me to be the best mom I can be. I also feel so lucky to meet and have other mommy friends who inspire me as well. I wish every mother a very special day with your children.?
